should i take a lie detector test to prove im telling the truth

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
i had a boyfriend on the first stage of our relationship i lied a lot of things to him. I didnt told him because im afraid that he might leave me. I also had an affair but it was a long time already. I told him everything because i dont want to hide things to him. To myself i know that i had done a lot of mistakes and im really trying hard to change everything and im not telling lies anymore. But he wanted me to take a lie detector test to prove im not telling lies anymore. Im not really sure about it because i dont know how accurate the lie detector test is. Its not that im hiding things or still telling a lies but i dont believe it. He said that the only way he can believe me again. I really dont know what to do. I know ive change already and i regret everything already and never done anything wrong anymore to him. I love him very much and i dont want to lose him.

What should i do? Do i have to take it or not? What are the other options i have?

I don't think a lie detector test is the way to go.

Your boyfriend has to learn to trust you and the way to do that is to constantly tell him the truth about everything and he will start to trust you.

If you want to spend $500-$700 for a test go to: http://www.polytest.org/

If you want more info on trust try: http://www.coping.org/growth/trust.htm

Good luck! George
