what's up with this?

I'm getting different signals. I believe this girl likes me, I hope! She does stare at me, and when I look at her, she does look away. I always seem to see her looking at me, but when I see her in the hall, and say HI to her she just keeps walking and never acknowledges me.
Or I'll see her walking to school across the parking lot, I'll wave at her, and she gives me a very fast and discreet wave! Is it her friends she's worried about seeing her acknowledging me?

She may just be very shy.
That seems like the most likely cause of her behavior.
When you say hi in the hallway, make sure you are looking her in the eyes, that you are speaking in a clear voice, and that you give her a big smile.
If she continues to ignore you, drop a note in her locker or give it to her. Tell her that you feel hurt when she ignores your greetings in the hallway. Also ask for her Phone#, email, etc. so you can contact her.
