Flirting vs Stalking

i have a problem. i like this girl and everyone knows i do. people are always trying to hook me up with her, there's only one problem, i cant talk to her. im the shy type and dont know how to talk to a girl and am nervous most of the time. i've tried to talk to her sometimes at this place where she gets picked up but am always slow and mostly she just walks away after a while. she knows i like her too.

Now she has the expression that i stalk her or something. i heard from friends that i scare her. i dont want to be known as a scary person and i dont think i can talk to her anymore because she would just get away from me. what should i do now???
