Talking to Girls

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male
Im a sophmore guy in high school and I have plenty on GUY friends …and I do like the opposite sex, but I can never work up the nerve to really talk to a girl. I always over hear my friends talking about girls and it seems like they don’t really respect them in general. I can tell that they don’t really want a girlfriend for the right reasons. I really don’t understand why girls fall for guys like that. I mean I only want someone to talk to, but somehow I always fail to talk to the girls. Its kinda stupid because they say hi to me and all I say back is hi… I really want to talk to them…but always seem to freeze… im not a particulary shy kinda guy, its just when im around those certain girls that I totally freeze up and go into shy mode..I dunno wut to do. Please give me advice

The first tip if you're just shy with girls in general is to try talking with girls you are NOT interested in, for practice. Just chat with them casually, ask what the homework was, etc. You definitely should have a few girl friends in addition to your guy friends! The more you get used to talking to these "non threatening" girls, the easier it will be to talk to other girls that you actually ARE interested in.
