should we tell people about us?

I sent u a question before about my bestfriend who's younger than me with 3 years and i was confused whether to tell him that i like him or not, and he asked me out a week later and told me that he has been in love with me for 2 years :D , we're so happy about it , but the problem is that iam rlly scared to tell people about it , my friends wil think its rlly weird specially that his ex gf is my friend too and we'll be always be subject of their sarcasm and it might make me feel bad about the whole relationship, he doesnt mind it and he thinks tht as long as we love each other we shudnt care about other people, but he totally respects my choice to keep it as a secret,i only told one friend and he did too, so what do u think ? should we tell people about it or not and do u think i dont love him enough thats why iam scared to face people with it? coz im rlly confused specially because he's facing this problem with so much love and doesnt care about anyone but me and he's ready to face any consequence while iam rlly scared :S PLZ help

You are probably shy about telling friends because you are older than he is.
You might as well tell people because they are going to find out anyway. You have put yourself on this path and so you should walk it with a smile on your face.
