flirt or friend

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
one of my friends emailed you yesterda and said you give awsome advice. since i don't have an email address i am using hers and she's going to print it out and give your advice to me. Any how i have a friend that i always hang out with we are inseprable sometimes. Sometimes we stage a fake arguement just because its so much fun, after our fake fight we're usally hugging and laughing so hard we're crying. he always makes me laugh. we are around each other because we both do plays so we have became very very close.
several times during one of or fake fights our faces came really close together and everyone always comments we look like we're getting ready to kiss. neither of us will admit whether or not we like the other i asked him once but he said he liked me as a friend what do you think are we the perfect class couple? does he like me? did he want to kiss me?Are we more then friends?

Thanks for writing.

You two are certainly the best of friends and very close to being more than friends. My concern is that if you try to change your relationship it may end up changing your friendship.

My advice is to enjoy what seems to be a perfect friendship and if it is going to change, let him be the once who asks this time. You may be right that he wants to kiss you and that you are a perfect couple. But imagine how bad you would feel if you did something to spoil what you have.

However, if you want to explore advancing your relationship, tell him that you are "developing feelings" for him and ask how he feels. This is non-threatening and won't end your friendship.

Good luck! George
