What is his problem? Yes or no?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I'm 14. I'm not the popular type.
Anyways, i'll call him marcus. Last year after throwing pens/pencils at my group in science, I threw them back. Ever since then whenever he sees me, he hides behind something. Once he hid behind a wall and once behind a pole, other times he just runs.
About a week ago I found him hiding and asked what he was doing. He said nothing, and sprinted off down the hall with the expression of a small child caught doing something bad. After forgetting a text book I came back around to the lockers and some of his friends were just laughing, like what he did was hilarious. After presenting myself I grabbed his backpack so he wouldn't run away and so I could as why he kept avoiding me. The zipper broke and I let go so it wouldn't totally break. After feeling really bad about what I had done I called and apologized about the backpack, he said he had fixed it. It was sort of awkward. When I asked him about avoiding me, he just said he didn't want me to think that he had put these magnets on my locker. (I had found a few magnets on my locker that weren't mine.)
Now that i've told my story, i'm slightly confused. A few people have said that he likes me, but it doesn't make sense. Any ideas? I'd appreciate any insight at all, especially about the running away part. Much thanks!

RomanceClass.com Advice
It seems that he likes you but is too shy to show it openly.

That is why he runs away, because of shyness.

It sounds like he is immature and if you like him, you will need to overcome his shyness by flirting and joking with him.

Good luck! George
