Was he out of line?

Visitor's Question from a 51-60 year old Female
Dear Romance Class: My fiance broke up with me over the phone just hours after he told me he loved me for the millionth time. He claimed that he thought it over, and "his jealousy issues could not cope with my being friendly with other people." He said he found that quality in me "untrustworthy." I am European and was raised that it is OK to hug everyone. It means nothing. I told him that, and that I was totally devoted to him. It wasn't good enough. I told him I would change. That wasn't good enough. We were so much in love! I don't understand. It's like he dropped a hand grenade into my heart. How can I get over this? Thank you

RomanceClass.com Advice
Don't give up hope, if he just broke up with you he may come back.

On the other hand you could take his behavior as a sign that he wasn't right for you. Imagine how bad you'd feel if he sprung this on you after you were married.

You get over it by greiving for a while, doing things with friends, if you are religious talk with your pastor, go on a vacation, bury yourself in work, and eventually find yourself another guy.

Yes he was out of line. He should have let you try to change.

Sorry this happened to you! George
