He Said I was Too Jealous and Broke Up

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
My ex broke up with me after dating for 1 month. He was a great boyfriend. He said I was too jealous and he couldn't deal with it anymore. He is in school right now and told me we couldn't get back together right now, but maybe later.

It has been three weeks since the break up. We have not spoken since. I've heard through the grapevine that he may be interested in someone else. Am I wasting my time or should I contact him once school is over in two weeks?

I'm not sure if he was such a great boyfriend if his solution to a relationship problem was to just dump you!! He should have let you know when the jealousy bothered you, and then worked on it with you, letting you learn to trust him, showing himself to be trustworthy. For him to ditch and run at the first sign of trouble really doesn't show any sort of commitment or ability to talk about issues on his part.

Also, the core of any relationship should always be a strong friendship and if he just told you to stay away completely for five weeks that's not very nice. It's sort of a control game, he has you waiting for him and he can do whatever he wants. If he chooses to come back, or chooses to go off with someone else, he can do whatever he wishes and you are forced to wait and see.

I would really chalk this up as a lesson learned about life, that a relationship is worthwhile when it's with someone that is honest to you. I'm sure you'll find a new guy soon who makes you forget all about the old one.
