Dated for 5 years...break up and i want her back

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
My ex and i had dated for 5 years and i had planned on proposing this month to her. we were in a long distance relationship for 2 and a half years of it but we made the best of it. she comes home before thanksgiving and we start talking and she says she doesnt love me anymore and that she just loves me as a friend. she says she is frustrated because she is confused about what she wants. she says that i get mad at her when she goes out with her friends, but its not that i get mad, i get jealous because i am not there to comfort her and be with her. we have been apart for almost a month now. for the first few days she didnt call or nothing or respond to my texts. but now she calls me almost everyday. i tell her how i feel and that i miss her and want her back and to give me another chance. she says she wants to start over with our dating, but at the same time she wants to date other people. i just want to it to be us who is dating one another, i dont want to share her with anyone. she is going on a double date this weekend and i am nervous that i am gonna lose her. but she did ask me to come down next weekend to spend time with her and take her out and take it one day at a time. i cry and pray every nite for her to be with me again cuz i love her more than anything. what should i do?

RomanceClass.com Advice
It's time to stand up straight and accept what is going on.

If she is 21 or near, she is probably doing what a lot of young women do at that age--spreading their wings and flying. For some reason is happens around 21.

Go along with her offer to include you in her dating. Don't be jealous, that just makes it worse. Jealousy is a very hard emotion to deal with so fight it as hard as you can.

When you do go out with her, don't dwell on your relationship... you both know that it is precarious. Have a good time with her and she will enjoy your company. My guess is that she will come back to you once she realizes that dating isn't that easy.

Good luck! George
