The musician and the beauty

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
I've been dating my girl friend for a while now and I'm kind of stuck. You see It's our 4 year, in a few days and I'm not sure we're going to last. I travel often to play my music and to work. It kills us both that I'm gone for so long. But at the same time she is in school so when I am around she's always studying. So nether of us really have time for each other. I just got back from the east coast and I sat her down and talked to her about future plans. I let her know that I wanted to move to the east coast to pursue my music and education. Yet she feels it's not wise of me to do so. She doesn't support it at all. She also doesn't want to move with me. I understand her point of view completely. But I feel it is necessary for myself to go through with this. Am I being selfish? Anyway I guess my question is. Is there any way to solve this. Should I break up with her and let her be free? This is the first big relationship for both of us. I'm not really good with words. So I wouldn't really know how to go about doing this.

Since you are determined to move East, then it is time to break up. It doesn't seem you are spending much time together anyway.

As far as how to express yourself to her, this question you wrote is just fine. Show it to her and see how she feels.

Good luck! George
