Confused about the relationship and the ring

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Its been about 6 weeks since I am going out with that guy. We were really good friends before. Everything in our relationship is so perfect and it feels really nice. We've never had a fight or whatsoever. We always have something to talk about all the timeand for my birthday he asked me what i wanted. I said a ring but then i was like no forget it because its too early to ask for that and like get me something else but he still got me a ring for my birthday and he put it around ma wedding finger. The relationship is never boring but yesterday he texted me and said that he can no longer keep up with it. Its too much for him to handle and he is breaking up with me. He goes he loved only one girl in his life and he just can't feel the same way for me and the girl is in some over country as well. He also said that he is not ready and he is really sorry but he does like me more than a friend. I don't know why but i don't want this relationship to be over. He did say he is really happy whenever he is with me and he is going to miss that. He goes he wants to go back as being friends. This is all of a sudden i mean eveything was going on fine. Everything was great between us. I really don't want it to be over. I don't know why i am feeling like this but i am always happy when i am with him. I really like him a lot. I do think that the thing he said about loving the other girl is an excuse. Shall i give him the ring back?I really don’t know what to do. He also said that he’ll tell me everything in details about the breaking up issue but he didn’t talk about it and i didn’t want to ask him. I am thinking that he’ll tell me himself and he is just waiting forPlease save my relationship.

Thank you
Yours sincerely,
S...

RomanceClass.com Advice
If your relationship is to be saved, it will have to be through a long, gentle conversation with him.

Only by finding out what is really troubling him can you find a way back into his heart. Listen very hard when he tells you and don't beg. Repeat back what he says in your own words so you can be sure you are on the same wavelength.

Certainly you should give him back the ring. It is no longer a proper symbol of your relationship. Maybe having it back in his possession will make him think of things differently.

Good luck! George
