Finding a Date On Line

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male
Me and my girlfriend broke up about a month ago, and I know no one in school, so I was wondering how safe on-line dating is?

RomanceClass.com Advice
Anything in life is safe or unsafe depending on how you approach it. It can be safe to walk around in a city, or it can be incredibly UNSAFE to walk around in a city, depending on how you do it and where you go and what you are wearing and how you are acting.

Online dating is no better or no worse than dating in real life. There are always jerks out there, and there are always wonderful people out there. So you spend a LOT of time talking to people first to get to know them, and if you really hit it off with someone after a few weeks, you arrange to meet in a public place for a short period of time. If someone is going to be a jerk, they can just as easily be a jerk if you meet them in a bar or hobby club or anywhere else. Your job as a dater is to take things slowly so you realize if someone is a jerk before you get too close to them.
