Insecurities
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male Ok, so I'll try and condense this as best I can. My girlfriend is friends with a lot of the guys at her school. Most of her friends are guys, some of whom I know for a fact likes her. She says she only sees them as friends. However, while I was away (I was gone most of this past year for military training) we've 'taken a break' and gotten back together twice, and she has only recently (within the past few months) told me that she had liked some other guys she went to school with and had even gone out with one of them one time. She told me this because she said she wanted to be honest and upfront with me, and I do trust her, but I'm just worried that when I get deployed or something, when I would already barely be able to talk to her, she'd do something like this again. I've already talked to her about it and she keeps telling me to trust her and that she doesn't see those guys that do like her more than just friends, but I still can't help feeling insecure and even a little jealous about it. Advice?
RomanceClass.com Advice You have little choice but to trust her.
She is trying to be upfront with you so take her at her word.
It is only natural to feel a little insecure during a long separation, but this is a part of life. Not pleasant, but you have to learn to deal with it.
You do have the option of taking a break while you are gone if that would make you feel better.
Continue to discuss this with her and you may become more comfortable with the situation.
Good luck! George
