when/how should i ask a guy to prom?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I am a junior girl in high school, and lately I've been feeling strange feelings for this guy who goes to my school. Yeah, I've had the "little crushes" and such, but this guy creates butterflies in the stomach, shaky hands, the whole bit. I've never quite felt like this with anyone else before.

So, it's currently October, and my class has to plan/decorate for prom, which has caused this to be on my mind a lot. I would like to ask this guy to our prom, but I don't know when I should, or how to go about doing it. see, there is no possible way that I could wait for him to ask me because I am 10 months older than him, and he's a grade younger than me, so unless someone older than him asks him, he wouldn't be able to go.

I have a feeling that he will a favorite for more than a few people when it comes to asking a guy to prom, so I want to ask him early enough that I'll be the first, but again, not too early.

Thank you much for the advice!

RomanceClass.com Advice
My suggestion is that you ask him a month before the prom.

Then start emailing or texting him on a regular basis either as a friend or a girlfriend. About once a week bring up the prom... like so-and-so is going to the prom with so-and-so. Little reminders so it is on his mind.

Be sure to work out the details of who is picking up whom and is he expected to wear a tux and bring you a flower to wear. Give him two weeks notice about these details so he feels comfortable about knowing what to do and giving him time to do it.

Good luck! George
