I've known this guy for a while, but I've never really had a conversation with him until recently. We've always said hi and smiled to each other in the halls, but about a week ago we started talking. He told me that he's wanted to talk to me for a while, but the opportunity never came up.
He seems like a really sweet person and I feel like we connect, I just don't know if he thinks of me as just a friend or maybe something more. He always comes up to me to talk if I see him now and today he put his arm around my shoulder. A friend of his and mine told me that he brings me up a lot when they talk. I'm really hoping that he feels the same way i feel about him, but i just don't want to be disappointed when I realize i'm just a friend.
Does it seem like he likes me or am I just hoping he does?

It's obvious that he likes you. Let him know that you like him too.
Bring him some cookies as a surprise. Demand goodbye hugs or just give them to him. Ask him about school sports and maybe go to a game together.
