My New Love has Vanished

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
Hi! When my friend introduced me to a guy I was really caught off guard. I wasn't looking for love at the time but we really hit it off. We have been together now for almost a month. The first couple a weeks were awesome. He called me everyday and we seen each other every other day. I have some problems with my ex-boyfriend and my guy is always there to give me support. Whenever I'm sad he does alot to make me happy.

Well this last week he hasn't called me at all and its really starting to scare me. I have tried calling him but he's never home. Please tell me am overeacting and that he just needs time alone. Or is he not interested in me anymore? Please help I want to know if he is a lost cause. I haven't been able to talk to him so I don't know what to think. Is he not man enough to break up in person and ignoring me so I can just forget it? Please help.

Well, it's not like you saw him in a mall and he ran to the other side of the hall! He just hasn't been around. September is a hugely busy time for most people so it easily could be that he's just wrapped up with some project or task.

I wouldn't turn into a stalker, calling him every 15 minutes. That could drive him away. Is there any way you can stop by his house or somewhere else that he is when you know he'll be around? Get some sort of small gift for him and say that you saw it and thought of him and wanted to drop it off. That way it's not that you're "hunting him down" but just that you wanted to give him something. I'm sure when you see him that he'll say he was just busy and you'll start to hook up.

But also keep in mind that the first few weeks of any relationship are always a whirlwind - and then it settles into a normal relationship. I have a list of love stages here -

and it may just be that now you're into the relationship deeper, it will survive without every-second contact.
