Popular vs. Nerd?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
My boyfriend is a super athletic and popular guy (otherwise known to be a jock). But I, on the other hand, am a teacher's pet and a real nerd. I really don't understand why he loves me (which he reminds me of everyday) but he keeps saying that we're perfect for each other and that there's no one else for him.
Recently, however, there are some popular cheerleaders at my school who are all slobbering over him. They're extremely pretty and skinny and tall. When I see his facial expression, he looks disgusted, and he always tells me not to mind them because he loves me more than anything and would choose me over them any time.
But I really don't understand. I'm getting more and more jealous of them and I feel as if I'm nothing to him, even though he reminds me every single day. I don't know what to do. Should I believe him or continue to doubt?

RomanceClass.com Advice
Your man sounds like a keeper. I would trust him, for one thing. He has not given you any reason to doubt him, and unfounded distrust will only sow the seeds for a bad future together. In addition, people are attracted to confidence. By acting jealous you will become less attractive to him and possibly create the very situation you fear.

If you are having trouble with jealous feelings, realize this is something you need to work on inside yourself. Talk to your girlfriends or guy pals about this. Ask your parents or an adult you trust about how to increase your own self-esteem and resolve the jealousy.
