im in a sticky situation

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
i have a really huge crush on someone. in fourth grade, when i met him, i pretended to hate him so no one would think i like him. the prob is, he's head over heels for my best friend, but genuinely hates me....i think. a few friends say he does like me, but im not sure. he looks at me a little, we laugh a lot (mostly at our weird interpretations of drawings. he emails my bff like, every day, but he has never emailed me. i think he only respects me a little cuz he LOVES my bff. im sorta happy cuz she likes him back, but im really jealous of his other crush. shes pretty, but shes mean, bossy, and always says negative things about people. i want to win him over, but idk how. plz help!!!!

RomanceClass.com Advice
If this person is truly your best friend, that means it is not your place to wiggle into their new possible relationship. If you persist in this, you will probably lose your friend. And if you are thinking maybe this boy doesn't even like you much, then you are just stirring the pot for possibly no return on your efforts.

I'd give serious thought to finding another guy to crush on. At the time you might be very excited about this one person, but I think you are strong enough to take a deep breath and look elsewhere. It's better to be a good friend to your BFF, even if you think she doesn't deserve this guy.

If, later on, they do not work out, you will have a clear conscience to pursue him then. :)
