RomanceClass.com Advice
I'm not exactly sure why you would WANT him to feel hurt and pain. Are you saying "I'm suffering - I hope he's suffering too!" It can be easy to feel thoughts of revenge and such after a breakup, but really the most important thing when you break up is to realize that it's over, and to take care of yourself and your emotions to move on to find a new relationship.

Whether he's happy or sad or moving to Timbuktu or with a new girl or alone shouldn't matter at all. Worrying about how he is feeling is continuing that relationship with him - and prolonging your sadness. You need to fully accept that you are broken up. He will get through this breakup, as all human beings do. But YOU need to get through this breakup, and that is your primary concern.

So spend time with friends, go out to movies you will enjoy, get into some of your favorite hobbies. I have lots of tips on breaking up here -

Maybe you and he can be friends in the future, and you can start to worry about his emotions again. But right now you need to focus on you, and let him have his time alone.
