He Won't Love Me

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
How do I stop having feelings for someone who I know is never going to think of me that way? I've tried being in denial about it, I've tried everything I can think of. He's my best friend, but I know he'd never feel the same way, and I don't know how to make this stop!!

RomanceClass.com Advice
The most long standing romantic relationships are between best friends who then take the next step. Just why are you so positive that someone who already loves you and cares for you wouldn't want to be romantic? The core of a romance IS best friends. That is probably 90% of every relationship that lasts 10 years or more. You should treasure that.

Instead of assuming he won't, take the step and find out. You might discover that you two are truly great together in more ways than you ever imagined. And believe me, if you miss this opportunity, you will wonder about it for the rest of your life, and wonder if you missed out on your soulmate. It's always better to take that step and find out for sure where you stand.
