Hidden feelings

i have a friend a girl infact she is my colleague at work we got to know each other on the job but when she got wind of my age cos she's older than i am by months she called me a child and started acting funny, also cos she graduated in the united states that offers a 3 years programme and i am still in school final year programme of 5 years she thinks i am not good enough for her. though we are still friends i get pissed by her attitude regreting why i even mentioned my age to her cos i really care about her, but with this recent behavior iam really considering forgeting about the friendship and closeness

It sounds to me that she has feelings for you and is not only afraid of them but also afraid that maybe pursuing them with you will not work out the way she wants because your situations in life are different. She's hiding behind her feelings by acting the way she is.

I would suggest that you tell her it hurts your feelings that she treats you the way she does. She will most likely stop, especially if she has feelings for you, too.

If she asks you why her behavior hurts you so much, tell her what you think about her. You'll know where you stand right away and then can take appropriate actions from there.
