I Have a Crush - I Want to Ask Him Out

I had been in his school for 2 months and I had a Major crush on him, then I had to move away. I'm in the next town, and we have track meets together. I have 2 questions. Is it worth it to ask him out,and how would I tell him without telling him in front of his friend at the track meet?

I have a ton of advice on the site about this - I really would NOT just go up and ask him out if you're not actively friends right now. There is too much risk. Instead, work on the friendship. Get his number and email, talk to him a lot, go out to movies and the mall as friends. Then you can work on the dating part, once you are able to talk to him alone.
