I'm obsessed! Is there a cure?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I just recently started going with this guy and I really like him. The only problem is, I can't stop thinking about him, and it's driving me nuts! I want to call him every minute of the day, and I'm afraid if I'm too obsessive over the whole thing, I might lose him. Is there a way to stop this overanxiousness and obsession?

RomanceClass.com Advice
There's no real way to get over these sorts of feelings. They will fade on their own, and you can help it by laughing at yourself when you find yourself obsessing again. Put it in perspective by saying, yeah this is fun, but it's just an obsession. When you're around him, shove the obsession into the back of your mind and deal with him as a close friend and boyfriend, but don't gush all over him, he'll hate it. But in the privacy of your room or in your school notebooks, feel free to write as many poems to him as you want, or write his name a dozen times or come up with names for your kids, whatever. It's an enjoyable sort of crazy emotion. Just remain realistic about it and you'll be ok.

Good luck!
