If she's staring at you, it sounds like she might still be fond of you. But remember, she has a 'public image' she's worried about. Most teenagers are very sensitive about what the 'crowd' things of them. So the last thing she wants her friends to think is that she was dumped. So instead she makes jokes about the relationship to "prove" to everyone that it didn't really matter to her and that she's a cool chick.

I would never judge someone's feelings by how they act in public in school. That's about the last way to learn their real emotions. Sometimes the way they act is the complete *opposite* of how they really feel! It does show she's a bit immature if she's willing to hurt your feelings in order to keep her self image afloat. But again it's just not uncommon for teenagers to do that sort of thing.

I'd find a time to speak to her alone, when there aren't other prying eyes watching you. Ask her how she's doing, make an overture of friendship. You might find that as she eases up and becomes friends with you again that her public displays get a little more reasonable.
