Surprise! She has a boyfriend

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
Hello again! Well, I told the girl I like what you you told me to tell her. I told her that I DID like her as more than a friend and that I was uncomfortable talking to her friends about it. She said she will talk about it later. I'm thinking, "No big deal." I also gave her my number. Later that day, I told her if she wanted to call me that night, she could. All of this was this past Tuesday. I told her to call after 5:00. She never called. I didn't think it was her fault because either she forgot or something unexpected came up. Yesterday, I asked her why she didn't call in a joking way. She laughed and said she forgot and she would call tonight. I'm thinking, "No problem." Later that day, one of her friends suggested I get her number. I agreed. Later, I got her number, but I wanted her to call me. I didn't want to call her because she may not want me to. She had to do stats for a basketball game and wouldn't be home until after 9 pm.
Just for the heck of it, I txted her, wishing her good luck and hoping she wins and to have fun. I also said she could call me when she gets home. AGAIN, she never called! This morning, I checked my txts this morning and she said she couldn't call and didn't say why. What she said next put me into TOTAL SHOCK: She has a boyfriend! WHAT THE F**K?! She said she didn't think she liked me as more than a friend, but we could stay friends. I am totally fine with this. I will NOT try to break them up, EVER! No way! I can't decide whether to wait until they break up or forget about it and find someone new, which will probably NEVER happen for me! So I'm asking you. What...do.....I....do?
I'm probably gonna stay away from her for a while.

Thanks again!

Your solution sounds right. Good thing you got this thing cleared up before spending too much time on it. And, who knows, she may break up with her boyfriend and you will be waiting.

Good luck,
George
