Is she seeing a psychiatrist?

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
My girlfriend is a manic depressive. She recently tried to commit suicide twice this past month. We are truly in love with each other. We have made plans to move in together and have even gone ring shopping. I love her, but dont think we should be together. My heart says yes and my logical thinking and my family and friends say NO. We are both 26 years old and have been together for one year. She has a mental illness. Do I stay with her or do I break up now?

RomanceClass.com Advice
She needs to see a psychiatrist. If she already is, ask her to find out from him/her what would be the best thing to do about your relationship. If I were you, I would not move in with her but also not break up. If you break up and she kills herself, you might end up blaming yourself. But, my opinion is not the one you should listen to... find out what the psychiatrist has to say. Sorry you are in this predicament.

Good luck,
George
