He always tells me he loves me but it feels like he is saying it just to be saying it

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Me and my boyfriend have known each other for about 2 years now but we have been dating for about 2 months. He always tells me he loves me but when he says it like it feels like he is saying it just to be saying it. what should i do because it really upsets me.

RomanceClass.com Advice
First be thankful that he is saying it.

Next, have a heart-to-heart talk with him and gently and lovingly explain to him that when he says he loves you that it doesn't seem like he means it. Tell him what you want him to do... for example, maybe you want him to smile and kiss you as he says it.

This is a difficult thing to change. He is probably saying he loves you the same way he hears his parents say it. Try to ease him out of it. Or better yet, start saying I love you to him the same way you want him to say it to you!

Good luck!
George
