Did he lose interest or was it just friendship?!

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have been working with this guy for about 9 months, and of those 9 we've been hanging out for about 5.(He's 4 years younger than I am.) During the time we are at work, he tells me I am his favorite person, and that I make his day. When we are together, we laugh and always have a good time with each other. I went on a vacation and he was text messaging me the whole time I was gone...he said "I wish you were here." I'm wondering if he only sees me as a friend or if there may be something else there...When he wrote that text message I sent back "Do you mean that?"(he never responded) and then while I was on my vacation I got him a little something (he was excited about the gift...he was all like "oh, you thought of me.")
Now he has been kinda standoffish, and I don't know how to read him. He hasn't called me and he looks bummed when we are at work. Something that I noticed before my vacation was that he would say "I don't know" a lot of the time to my suggestions for doing something. Did he lose interest or was it just friendship?! I think I made it apparent that I liked him.

RomanceClass.com Advice
At this point it's too early to say.

Keep doing what you have been doing and give it some time.

It does seem that he is losing interest, but perhaps that is just a phase he is going through or that he has troubles you don't know about.

Ask him out and see if you can find out more about his feelings.

Good luck!
George
