hi, this girl i extremely like always ignores my glances. she makes an effort not to see me, but once i caught her looking at me. whenever i am near her she looks down and tries to get away. i know it sounds like she is interested, but i don't think she is, because when i look at her she pretends she doesn't know i exist. is this what shy girls do when they are interested? and what can i do to get her from hiding?

She would not constantly avoid you glances if she was interested.
Best bet is to say hi to her with a big smile and using her name.
She probably will say hi back to you. Keep doing that until you feel comfortable making more conversation like "How're things going."
With any luck within a month you will be chatting like old friends.
