Two months and 8 women later I met the right girl

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
I am recently divorced, caught my wife cheating. Two months and 8 women later I met the right girl. I have been with my new love for 2 months now but I am having some difficulty dealing with a few issues. She keeps in contact with several long term ex-boy friends, 1 more than the other 2, we have talked about it and she assures me that it's platonic. She says it's unfair for me to ask her to give up her friends just because of her past with them. I'm still uncompfortable with it though. Is it because I was cheated on or is this normal not wanting her to still talk with people she was intimate with and loved? They all broke up with her and I'm partly concerned that she may still have feelings for them. I don't see why she needs to keep them as friends.

You have recently been burnt so it isn't surprising that you are hesitant to get close to the fire again.

Yes, it is unreasonable for you to expect her to give up her friends just because they are ex's. They are part of her life and you can't erase them.

Build up your trust level with her by talking honestly and lovingly about the subject but without the suggestion that she stop contacting them.

Good luck!
George
