He spends all his time with his best mate so there is little chance that he would really miss me...

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
hey there,
me and my ex met at school and then went on to uni together.we had a very close relationship abd he absolutely adored me.in the holidays we were apart as he got a job with his best mate and i went home.after a few weeks he phoned me and said that he wanted to break up with me.he didnt say much more than that he still loved me but he wasnt ready for a relationship.
this is about 2 month ago now and we are back at uni now, i see him every other day and we go to our classes together, often he comes up to me asking if i wanted to go for a drink but every time shortly before we are supposed to meet he makes up a stupid excuse why he couldnt come.last week i asked him why he always lets me down and he said that part of him wants to be friends with me but he still loves me and is attracted to me so he doesnt know how to deal with htis as he still thinks that he is not ready for a relationship.
also he still wants to know what i m doing at the weekends etc...
now, he spends all his time with his best mate so there is not even a chance that he would really miss me...
i love this guy to pieces and no matter how hard i try i just cant forget about him.
is there any chance of us getting back together?or what could i try to make him realise on what he has lost?i have already tried all the tips on your website and nothing worked so i am a little lost now...

RomanceClass.com Advice
It seems you have tried everything without good luck.

Have you tried asking him out to dinner? Or perhaps you could invite him to your place for a home made dinner.

Basically, you take the initiative for making the date. If you have to, tell him that you are not ready for a relationship either but you want to be friends. Maybe friendship could grow into a stronger relationship.

Best of luck! George
