He told him I sounded like his ex who always told him to ignore his mother

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
Recently I was on the phone with my boyfriend and I said I missed him and wanted him to come over right away. He said he couldnt cause him mom wanted him there for dinner, then I said he should come have dinner with me cause I missed him and couldnt wait to see him. He was saying that he would rather be with me and wanted to but his mom said he had to stay or he'd have to come live with me cause she wouldnt let him back in the house. I said that wouldnt be a problem jokeingly oh course and told him to hurry at least. He told him I sounded like his ex who always told him to ignore his mother and that he should be there already. I found that so offensive to me cause his ex was really mean to him. Am I just over reacting or should I say something?

RomanceClass.com Advice
You are going to open a hornet's nest if you are not really careful about how you discuss his mother.

He's a real Momma's boy and will be that way the rest of his life. If she has him in her grasp now it might get worse in the future.

By the way, I am assuming he is close to 20. If he is 17 then don't worry about his mother quite yet.

As far as the reference to his ex just tell him gently and with care that you would prefer not to be compared to her.

Good luck! George
