We just have a hard time striking up a good conversation

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
Hello! My boyfriend and have known each other for about 8 months and have been going out for a little over a month now. We're in love with each other and I'm very happy with the relationship and that we're taking things really slow. But one thing that bothers me is that we're both rather shy and have a hard time knowing what to talk about. We usually ask each other how our days were and simple small talk stuff like that, but a lot of the time we just have a hard time striking up a good conversation. I also seem to be the one initiating most of the conversation and I feel overbearing when I'm the one who dominates the conversation. Any advice on what to talk about or how to fix this problem? Thank you in advance!
