They have been dating 7 to 8 months

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I must start from the beginning so you understand everything. I had been dating a guy for almost 2 years, before we started dating I had a guy best friend and he had a girl best friend. Fortunatly for me his girl bestfriend was dating someone that did not like her talking to my boyfriend, unfortunatley my boyfriend was not cool with my friend (who had also been his best friend too) so he asked me to stop speaking with him. That though was something I did not want to do but i also wanted to keep my boyfriend so I spoke to my friend when my boyfriend wasnt around. Me and my ex had our problems we fought like any couple but it always seemed like someone was trying to break us up. The first time we broke up was because of the way his mom treated me..she acted like i was one of his flings even though we had dated over a year, and would always yell not so nice things in the background of the phone. ( I forgot to tell you both me and him struggled with jeaoulsy issues). (I must also tell that his best friend and her boyfriend broke up so she was free to be friends witho whom ever she wanted and she started flirting with my boyfriend so i asked him not to talk to her if he didnt have to) Anyways his mom didnt like me so much she started picking up and taking his best girl friend places just to piss me off, so i called it quits because i was tired of it. We ended up getting back together, and things were rocky of course but we tryed to make it work. We went on a mission trip together and his best girl friend was there and on a work day they ended up working together and he realized just how much he missed her, so he decides that he wants to be her friend again and flirt with her and all this junk without not telling me but not considering things. He ended up treating me like crap when she was around and yelling at me when she was not, denying that he had feelings for her but telling everyone else he did. Me and him ended up not speaking for the rest of the week, and when we got home, he called me after he had just seen me 10 mintues ago and broke up with my on the phone. He then decides within two weeks that he wants to date the girl i hate most in the entire world. All i want to know is, they have been dating 7 to 8 months, yet he still believes that all i do is talk about him behind his back, always has something rude to say about me, and is trying to make it clear to others that he dislikes me so much, the thing im wondering is, for someone whose supposed to be over their ex he sure does talk about me alot and sometimes i catch him getting a glimpse, does he still care or whats his problem?
PS. the girl he started dating, the one i couldtn stand, he knew i hated her, did he do that to make me mad or what?
Im sorry its so long.

RomanceClass.com Advice
He might have dated the girl that you hated most out of a sub-conscious desire to hurt you.

What I don't understand is why he would want to hurt you. Seems you had a good relationship before you split up. Maybe he was feeling guilty about leaving you and he didn't know what he was doing.

The same goes for why he is talking behind your back now. He is trying to put the blame for breaking up on you. It may also show, as you said, that he might still be interested in you.

Good luck! George
