She says she likes me as a friend

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
It's this girl who's supposed to be my friend and she's in the 8th grade. I'm in the ninth grade. we went out for about 3 months in the beggining of last school year. Later we decided to be friends.She's currently dating but has had 2 boyfriends after me. (I always call her but she never calls me) I call sometimes and It's hard to talk to her because she hardly talks to me on the phone. (It's like I have to write down and read everything I have to say to her cause she hardly talks to me) I ask her if she likes me as a friend and she sais yes.(this hapenned at the beginning of this school year.) Now in 2006, She has a boyfriend in the same grade as she is. whenever I call her, her boyfriend picks up the phone. Usually I hang up or ask 2 speak 2 her but u know what the response was. I was just trying to ask how she was doin and stuff, but her boyfriend thinks I want to go with her. So now I'm kinda mad at her cause one time I called and she told her boyfriend to tell me that she wasn't there. She sais she likes me as a friend but now it's like she's not even allowed 2 have and boy --------friends.I'm just trying to let her know that I just want to be friends with her but I thinks that she thinks I want to go back out with her. I might come over to her school cause thats where I went in middle school, not to see her but to see my old teachers. If I ever happen to run across her, what should I do? Should I just forget about being her friend 4ever? I just need some help

Since you are having trouble making good contact with her try this.

Ask her if you could call her up as a friend once a week for 15 min. When you call her ask her how she is, remind her you care for her. Be cheerful and don't dwell on your relationship.

Be the best friend you can. Listen to her and share feelings with her. She may come back around to you.
