I'm in Love
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Male My girlfriend and i have been together for nearly 5 months now. she is 15 and i am 16. the problem is, i'm completely in love with her, and i'm not sure if she is ready to hear my feelings. do u think i should let her know? what are the most likely different ways that she will react? if i should tell her, what are the best ways of going about it?
RomanceClass.com Advice You should understand that Love isn't an On/Off thing. And what you feel right now about "love" will be different than you feel in a year or 5 years or 10 years. Love isn't one thing. It's an ever changing, ever growing emotion. Yes, you love her now, as a 15 year old. And if you stay together, you will love her in a COMPLETELY different way if she is your 20 year old wife. And then you will love her in a MUCH different way when she is your 25 year old wife and mother of your 2 darling children. These are all forms of love, they are all real, but none are "complete" or "ultimate". They are all love.
So don't make this into a huge, stressful situation that is the One and Only Declaration. That's not what love is about. In most cases, love should be better shown than said. Love is about how you feel, not about what you choose to say or how you say it.
So be tender, be caring, be loving, be gentle. Show her all the time how you care for her and want her to be happy. That is the real form of love. You shouldn't even need to tell her. She should know, and you should know. And if some evening while you're gazing at a sunset you whisper, "I love you," you probably will just get a sigh of happiness in response.
