im 16 years old ive been dating this girl for 9 months and we are very close but i feel so tied down i just want to have fun in high school and not feel so constrained. i need to know how i can break up with her in a nice way. because she didn't do anything to deserve it. please respond

This is very different from most of the problems we get on here from people your age! smile

You are only 16 ~ so yes it is young to feel tied, and 9 months is a long time at your age.

Some young people are ready for this kind of thing, especially if they are in love, but you are not one of them.

I think that you need to simply tell her the truth.

You need to tell her that she is a lovely person and you feel very close to her, but that you feel too young to be in a serious, settled, long-term relationship.

It may be hard for her to accept, or she may agree.
