When ever it's school holiday and you know that your loved one is going away on vakation, just as he/she is pakking, slip in a little love letter or chocolate or anything that would have them know that you were thinking of them and that you were going to miss them.
If you can't be there before they leave or while thei're pakking, just go to his/her house and leave a few messages through an open window maybe or just slide it through under the door.
It'll really show that they mean the world to you.
