If your not sure if a guy is doing something because he likes you or is just doing it to be nice, try and react to what he is saying like its not anything big and just laugh a little instead of making it seem like a big deal. Be CONFIDENT. Let him think that it happens to u all the time. Don't ignore him though still show some interest but now the guy will try harder to express his interest or like for you!!
If he just acts the same as before then he was just doing it to be nice.
