It's tough to date a close friend-tough to tell them you like them. You're worried it'll get awkward for them to know you like them and they don't like you too.
The best thing to do is tell your friend and see how it goes. If they say they don't like you, don't worry about it. Do your best to just try to think of them as a friend.
If they say they do, however, then it gets tougher. You're afraid to make the jump from friend to date. Don't be afraid. If you're both shy, passive people, do your best to make the moves, even if you don't want to. It'll become more natural as time goes on.
