Private Signal for 'I love you'
My husband and I started our own 'signal' for "I love you" following an accident where he injured his mouth and tongue & had trouble actually speaking. He came up with three hand squeezes in a row while we were holding hands as his alternate way of saying "I love you" without actually speaking the words. Long after he had healed from his accident, our 'signal' for "I love you" continued. The great thing about a signal is that it's exclusively yours, you can use it anytime, and it lets you clearly say "I love you" at times when you really can't actually speak the words....
