When you go out alone (or even with friends) never sit opposite her and always sit next to her. This is because when you sit opposite you have nothing to do but look at her (and her to look at you) chewing and eating. This feels awkward. Anyway if you sit next to her you can put your arm around her whilst you are waiting for the food. This will make her feel loved
