Something that really makes angry people even angrier is if they feel their emotion is being dismissed or not paid attention to. Let your partner know that yes, you KNOW he/she is angry, and that you will work together to find a way to solve the problem. The solving process does NOT need to involve anger, though. This can be hard for someone to understand if they grew up in a family where this was the normal way to deal with anger. So it might take a while for your partner to learn a more healthy approach. It's worth it though, because anger is a very destructive emotion.
