Staying active doesnīt mean you have to be ready to run a marathon, or work barbells every day. It means that you should generally try to maintain your body - going to a dentist, getting checkups, walking a few times a week. Why does this matter?
This isnīt about "looking good". Most studies show that looks are pretty unimportant to long-term couples. Itīs about being a full partner in the relationship. If one person is always too weak to do things, or complaining because of aches, or not wanting to do things because theyīd rather watch TV, this really causes stress on a relationship. When one partner is suffering, it causes difficulties for the other. Both partners should do their best to stay healthy, for the overall health of the entire relationship.
