Marrying Against my Will
Question:
My stepfather really wants me to marry this guy I don't like much. He's a stuck up jerk. My stepfather says I'll learn to like him. I don't think so! But this boy I've known from childhood has started flirting with me, and I think I have a crush on him. I don't know if I can go against my stepfather's wishes, though. Should I just do what my family wants and marry the jerk, or should I run off with my crush?

It sounds like you have a lot of pressure on you to make decisions in your life. You have to remember that it's YOUR life and you're the one who will have to live with those consequences for the entire rest of your years. So give yourself some quiet time to sit down and think.
Try to consider the "jerk" first. Maybe there are some good qualities about him. Maybe you had a bad first impression of him and never gave him a fair chance. Really think about it - consider if maybe life with him wouldn't be bad at all.
Then think about your crush. You may be idealizing what he's like. Make sure you think about his FLAWS in addition to his good qualities. What would life with him really be like? Real life isn't all perfect. It has ups and downs. Are you sure you have your eyes open about what those would be?
If in the end you still feel your crush is the best person to work on a relationship with, then stand by that decision. Again, it's your life, and part of being a grown up is deciding for yourself, after giving it serious thought, what direction your life should go in.
