Is he lying?

We often have visitors write in with solutions to each others' problems. Here is a visitor's solution to one of our visitor's questions.

Original Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I've already written in here about me and my ex attempting things again because trust was broken in the past. Right now we are just seeing eachother because I am not ready for a full relationship with him.

Well in order to see if he is still lying to me like he used to, I went into his email (he gave me his password back when we were dating). He has been promising me and swearing he is changed and honest, and is keeping nothing from me and promises he won't lie anymore. He swore to me that he doesn't like anybody else and I am the only one.

I know it is a low thing to go into someone's email but I need to know if I can trust him to start things again, because he lied to me so much. In his email he had a message that said "Has that girl you're in love with called you yet?" and he responded "No, but Bill (*name changed for privacy) gave my number to her". It's not me for sure because I don't know this person, and plus I obviously already have his number.

Now I don't know what to do because I know you should always confront someone first before jumping to conclusions, but how could I say "I've been going into your email"? From what I gather he really is lying and likes another girl. I can't confront him so I was thinking I should just break it off...does it seem like he is lying?

Thank you!
