French Kiss

I would like to understand what is the actual turn off...for a man to french kiss your loved one.
My current boyfriend doesn't seem to like to 'French Kiss' and when it is mentioned he does answer with statements such as, "there is no need for tongue swapping or putting a tongue down someone else's throat." When I made mention of reseach of benefits of kissing and exchanging saliva, he stated, "Yuck." It is a turnoff toward the whole relationship for me that he doesn't want to "french kiss."

[RomanceClass: he sounds phobic. Forget French kissing with him]
