Could he like me?

We often have visitors write in with solutions to each others' problems. Here is a visitor's solution to one of our visitor's questions.

Original Visitor's Question from a 13-20 year old Female
Okay. So I have a HUGE crush on this one guy. He's incredibly sweet and funny, and I talk to him a lot on my bus.

I thought he might have liked me as well a little while ago. He lectured me about making fun of myself (which was incredibly cute) and gave me two hugs at the end of the play we were both in. On the second hug I could've sworn I felt him rub my back. These are just two in a number of incidents that made me suspect that he may like me.

Anyway, eventually I found out through the grape vine he likes someone else. My neighbor. But there would still be moments that I'd catch him staring at me or, while he's walking down the hall, we'll lock eyes for a few seconds.

Thing is, he gave my neighbor a rose with a poem. Which makes this seem like it's not much of a clue. Some of my friends still think, because of how he acts around me, that he likes me. But I'm doubting it.

Still, I question whether or not he could like me as well. I mean, I've liked two guys at once... So why couldn't he?

User Submitted Advice from a 31-40 year old Female
Be patient

It is possible that he likes the both of you on two different levels, he likes you as a friend and the neighbor as a potential girlfriend. If he has taken the time out to write a poem and give her a gift, then he is really into her for the time being. He admires and respects the friendship he has with you because it enables him to be himself and to joke around with you and be silly. However; he is infactuated with your neighbor for the time being, this type of infactuation doesn't usually last as long as a friendship. My advice to you is to become a closer friend to him because just in case it doesn't work out with the neighbor, you will be the one he comes running to and the one he feels comfortable sharing his secrets with, that makes for a longlasting friendship and a possible relationship in the future as the two of you get older. So Be patient.
