Tales of the Ex @ RomanceClass -
I will never reunite with an ex again!

My high school sweetheart dumped me just 3 weeks before my senior prom. I found out that he was cheating on me with his best friend's girlfriend but when he decided to dump me he said it was because he was in college and needed to find himself. I figured that he would still take me to prom as friends(since I took him to his senior prom the year bfore) but he backed out on me. I had about a week to find a date. Luckily, I was able to find 2 dates to take me to my prom: one was a blind date which my mom had set up and the other was a friend.

I never spoke to my high school sweetheart after that. I happily moved on with my life and never looked back. Five years passed and then one day there is a knock on my front door. It's him-----the ex-high school sweetheart.I couldn't even tell that it was him because he had gotten so fat and bald. He came looking for me to apologize for what he had done to me in high school.I felt that his apology was a tad bit late. He said that he was in the neighborhood and wanted to talk. He had been searching for me for over a year. He sounded like a stalker so I was a bit frightened. I nearly slammed the door in his face but he convinced me to hear him out.

There was a lot of babbling on his end but I did hear a few apologies so I accepted them because I wanted to show him that I was mature enough to let it rest in the past. I had no hard feelings. The ex wanted to become friends which I saw no harm in that.

At the time I had just been rejected by my crush of 5 years so hanging out with my ex seemed to fill a strange void. I was looking for a friend. After a couple of hang outs I could tell that he was falling for me all over again. The ex would send me little gifts and even purchased tickets to see my favorite band in concert. He kissed me and that is when I had to tell him that he stood no chance with me. The ex got defensive and I could tell that his ego was sore. He said that he was happy that we did not click because atleast he knew for sure that I wasn't the girl he was supposed to marry which made absolutely no sense at all. He admitted that for a brief moment he believed that this second chance would end up with us walking down the aisle together. I laughed.

I told him that he was crazy. There was no chance that I would ever be with him again. If I knew that those were his intentions then I would never have accepted to be friends with him. I moved on and I thought that he did to. I changed so much sinse high school. After that day we never spoke again although he continued to send me text messages and made a few of his friends call me just to see how I was doing. The ex was trying to find any little excuse to talk to me. I changed my cell phone number and that was the end of that. I was so happy to get rid of him. I will never reunite with an ex again!
